Dr. Jimmie G. Biles was raised in East Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology and Chemistry. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston in 1981 and completed his orthopaedic training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi in 1986. He completed a one-year fellowship in sports-related injuries in 1987, spending six months with the Cunningham, Feagin, and Lambert Orthopedic Group in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, followed by six months with Dr. William Grana at the Oklahoma Center for Athletes, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
